My Compaq laptop came with Windows. Months ago I resized the partitions. And installed Linux and NetBSD also. I have 40GB free still, but fdisk complained when I tried to add a new partition: "No free sectors available". The free space was inbetween. So I used curses-based "cfdisk" instead. It showed my "logical Free Space" and I was able to add another partition.
