Use ethereal to sniff X11 protocol traffic. Used xoo to run Xnest inside a small window.

If get teh following when starting a client in Xnest:

AUDIT: Tue Jun 20 19:21:46 2006: 5490 Xnest: client 1 rejected from local host

Then you can start Xnest without access checking with -ac. I also created package for xtrace. So I ran xtrace to point to Xnest. And then ran a client using -display :9 (which was xtrace) to see X11 debugging (tracing). Looks more useful than ethereal for this.
