Send-pr kern/13563 because "rndctl -l shows 0 bits for cd0". (See 19/Jul/2001 entry.) I double-checked first by mounting a cd9660 CD and browsed and looked at a few files on it. In addition, I did "rndctl -c -e -d cd0", but no change. Had a quick look at /usr/src/sbin/rndctl/rndctl.c.

Received a note from G. McGarry saying that listening to audio CDs doesn't read from the disk because it does a single ioctl to send the audio through the audio cable. He also said "Reading a few files will not generate enough entropy. Try find /cdrom - it will work." He was right -- it jumped from 0 "Bits" to 1152. I emailed gnats-bugs about this to make sure that the manual page clearly explained what "Bits" indicates and how much activity is needed to change it.
