Under Ubuntu, plugged in a Sandisk Sansa MP3 player. Nothing happened. No new device. I tried to mount manually, but not /dev/sda1. I made devices (ended up under /dev/.static because using dynamic udev). But still no joy. I did a rmmod of usb_storage and then a modprobe of it. And it worked and some GUI popped up. From the command-line, I copied a .ogg vorbis file and an mp3 file to /media/Sansa c240/MUSIC/. The GUI showed an icon for music. I unmounted the device. The MP3 player only had the MP3 file in the list. Too bad since all my music is in ogg :(
