I've been noticing that my locate database was missing files. It is built as nobody, but the files were readable. So I tried to build it manually. Then I noticed that the file system was full. So I looked at the /usr/libexec/locate.updatedb script. You can set the TMPDIR environment variable; so I set it to /usr/tmp/ and it was successful. Maybe later *I'll add some option to /etc/weekly and /etc/weekly.conf for this. *Or maybe just weekly.conf.5 should mention that TMPDIR can be set there. *Also maybe a link from weekly.conf manual page to create a weekly man page would be good.
