Learning more about building boot floppies. I found a few mailing list postings. I started a webpage with notes. I was able to make a boot floppy.

time is not time! When using "time" in bash, csh or ksh, you really use the internal, built-in version (unless you use /usr/bin/time). I updated the time(1) manual to give some further information about showing resource utilization (such as I/O). Also documented that ksh and maybe other shells also have a built-in time. send-pr: bin/11975. (This was used on 26/Jan/2001.) I also replied to the bug email, because I had one problem to fix (my bad grammar).
